The Rules of the IIPA, New Delhi provide for membership of the Institute from among academics, practicing and retired administrators at senior level, including the alumni of the Institute. The eligibility requirements for membership and the procedure of admission are as under:
Annual / Life Membership
(i) Any person who is or was employed in the public services in an administrative / managerial capacity
(ii) Any person who is or was employed in the teaching or study of Public Administration or related subjects in a University, College or institution engaged in research and training in Public Administration and management recognized by Government.
(iii) Any person who, in the opinion of the Executive Council, is actively involved or engaged in: (i) the practice of Public Administration or (ii) study and research in Public Administration.
Provided that no person shall be eligible for admission as Member, unless he has completed twenty-one years of age at the time of his application for such admission.
The Fee for Life Membership is Rs.10,000/- plus GST@18% (Total Rs.11,800/-).
Corporate Members
The Executive Council of IIPA, New Delhi may, on application in the prescribed form, admit on such conditions as may be specified in each case, as a Corporate Member of the Institute, any authority of organization within the public services, any approved association of members of any of such services, any University department or Institute devoted to the study of public administration, any statutory corporation, any joint stock company, any registered society, or any registered business establishment.
The annual subscription for Corporate Members shall be Rs.10,000/- for existing members. Now, the Corporate membership subscription shall be Rs.50,000/-plus GST@18% (Total Rs.59000/-) at the time of admission for new Corporate Members.
(A) Associate Members:
The Executive Council, may on application in the prescribed form, admit as an Associate Member of the Institute a person who has completed 21 years of age and is actively interested or concerned in the practice or study of public administration. The rights and privileges of such Associate Member shall be as prescribed.The annual subscription for Associate Membership is Rs.500/- plus GST@18% (Total Rs.590/-).
(B) Student Members:
The Executive Council, may on application in the prescribed form, admit as a Student Member of the Institute a bona-fide postgraduate student interested in the study of Public Administration. The rights and privileges of such Student Member shall be as prescribed.The annual subscription forStudent Membership is Rs.500/- plus GST@18% (Total Rs.590/-).
(C) Honorary Members:
The Executive Council may elect as an Honorary Member of the Institute any person who has rendered conspicuous service to Public Administration or to the Institute or to any branch thereof. The rights and privileges of an Honorary Member shall be as prescribed.
(D) Honorary Correspondents:
The Executive Council may invite and appoint any person or body in any foreign State interested or concerned in the practice or study of Public Administration to be an Honorary Correspondent of the Institute.
(E) Donor Members:
Members who pay a donation of not less than Rs.50,000/- shall be called “Donor” Members.
Fee and Subscription
(a) The annual subscription shall be payable in advance at the commencement of the Calendar year.
(b) Members admitted after the commencement of the calendar year shall pay subscriptions based on the number of residuary quarters of that year.
Procedure for Admission
The following is the procedure for admission:
(i) The applicant is required to fill up the prescribed form, which is available on IIPA, New Delhi website. < iipa.org.in >. The institute offers Life/Annual, Corporate, Associate and Student Membership, for which different membership application forms are prescribed. Therefore, the request for membership application form should specify the type of membership applied.
(ii) Application for Annual/Life and Associate Membership should be proposed and seconded by any two Annual/Life Members of the Institute and Student Membership application should be submitted along with a bonafide student certificate from Head of the Department of the University/College.
(iii) For the signature of two members, please send the Application Form to IIPA, Karnataka Regional Brach office. After the signature IIPA-KRB officewill send it to IIPA New Delhi. (alternately you can affix signaturesof twoLife Members and send it directly to IIPA, New Delhi).
(iv) The application received will be considered by the concerned authority, and after approval by the Executive Council of IIPA, New Delhi, the same will be communicated to the applicant. This process generally takes 2-3 months.
(v) After their admission,Life Members are issued a Life Membership Identity Card.
(vi) Outstation Annual and Life Members can avail Hostel facility, subject to availability, on advance written request by paying the prescribed tariff.
